Weagle the Pup, Part Deux

Weagle is doing awesome, I get nervous at night because I never know what he is going to do (chew/pee/get into something life threatening) so I haven’t been sleeping well. He only got up once last night and that was because he has what is known as Kennel Cough – it’s basically like bronchitis and should clear up in about a week the vet said. He just had a hard time breathing when he is laying down. Yesterday he was a perfect little puppy; he did his business outside the entire day and didn’t make one mess in the house. He had one pee accident on the floor I discovered this morning but I think it was a result of my taking a shower first and not letting him out a soon as I got up. We both have a lot to learn.

It’s hard leaving every morning – I never know what shape I will return to find the house in. That Megs has the week off is a godsend, she is able to come over and walk him in the afternoon which seems to do the trick in tiding him over until I get home from work in the evening. Housebreaking seems to be going well – lots of praise every time he goes outside. He is very loving and is always happy with a petting after but a few kibbles seem to make it all the more sweet.

Ok - I promise my next post will have more to do with something other then the pup.

New puppy, sliced finger, no sleep

Title says it all - I got about 3 hours sleep last night...who would have thought a new puppy could be so willful. Nearly every 5 minutes or so he was poking me to get up and play, pooping/pissing on the floor, or licking. Poor guy - he probably has no regular sleep clock between his time as a stray and his few days in the pound. His recently clopped nuts probably don't help the manner at all. The little bugger even managed to barf on the open book in my lap while I was sitting on the ground next to him trying to get him to calm down.

Of course this morning, half-exhausted, I stumbled into the kitchen to cut open his bag of food and promptly sliced my finger to shreds with a fillet knife and am now typing with a huge bandage over it, looking like a goon.

Thank god Megs was able to spend sometime with him this week as she has the week off from school. Speaking of school - I officially received word that I graduated. Not too shabby; a new puppy and graduated from school all in one day.

I'm going to try my best to finish World War Z tonight after the water I poured on it to clean up the barf dries out. I hope to get started on Gospel of the Living Dead tomorrow night sometime after Tang Soo Do, it seems to be interesting - it is written by an associate professor of religious studies up in NY and has some pretty good reviews. He seems to be a pretty cool guy.

A blog to show my love of the undead.

If you know me, you should know by now that I am pretty much fascinated by everything involving zombies (yes, I know one is not to use this word but oh well).

I am currently reading: World War Z: An Oral History of the Zombie War
and Gospel of the Living Dead: George Romero's Visions of Hell on Earth

I am currently fighting them: Half-Life 2

I am currently acting like them: Pittsburgh Zombie Walk

If anyone knows of anything new or cool coming out, please comment with links!
